The report went on to say that the Coroner’s preliminary report indicated bruising of the face and body that indicated Connie DuPree had been held down by someone of significant strength while she had literally bled to death. There had been no witnesses, no other evidence had been found in the car, and there was, as of yet, no discernible motive.

Connie DuPree, Greg thought as he scanned through the rest of the report, had been a night nurse at the University of Chicago Hospital. He’d ask Hannah, but he was willing to bet his badge that this woman was someone whom Hannah had never heard of met. A total stranger.
